SAN ANTONIO – Senior Nayuma Subba posted a victory at the number one singles position to highlight the Sam Houston women's tennis team's match Friday with UTSA Friday in the Alamo City.
Subba split sets with Castaneda Guerreo 6-1 5-7 then earned the singles victory winning a tiebreaker 10-8.
The Bearkat team is continuing its month-and-a-half long series of road matches this week. On Sunday, the women travel to San Marcos to face Texas State Sunday at 12 noon.
The pair of contests mark the team's second weekend on the road. The Kats traveled to Lubbock for meetings with nationally ranked Texas Tech and Oregon last week. The squad's schedule of 10 non-conference matches during February is preparing the team for the beginning of Conference USA action March 12 at WKU.
