HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston women's tennis team is set to host Missouri State on Saturday at the Chuck & Wanda Beckner Tennis Center in the third of five straight home matches to close the 2026 spring season.Â
First serve of doubles play for the 19th dual match of the spring is set for 11:00 a.m. against the Bears who enter the weekend with a 4-12 overall mark and having dropped eight consecutive matches. Â
The Bearkats are looking to get back in the win column as well after dropping a pair of matches last week to Stephen F. Austin and Louisiana Tech. Still, Rob Hubbard's squad has won seven of its last 11 outings after a tough 0-7 start to the season.Â
Sam Houston is led by senior Nayuma Subba who is 10-4 in singles matches this season, including a 9-4 mark on the No. 1 court. Ella Fitcher has also been impressive of late, winning seven of her last nine singles matches while Sara Sadadinovic has won five of her last six.Â
Admission is free to all Bearkat tennis matches, or fans can follow along with live scoring via Statbroadcast. Â
The Kats will close the regular season the following week with home matches against NM State and Kennesaw State. Â
