Football to travel to K-State in 2029

HUNTSVILLE – Officials from Sam Houston announced a future opponent for Bearkat Football on Tuesday, adding a trip to Kansas State to the 2029 schedule.  Â
The single game will take place September 15, 2029 at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kan. It will be the first time Sam Houston has ever faced off with K-State on the gridiron.Â
The trip to the Little Apple is the third game on the 2029 slate for Sam Houston. The Kats will open that season on Sept. 1 by hosting Troy, a return of Sam Houston's trip to the Trojans' home field for this season's kickoff. Sam Houston will then travel to Georgia Southern on Sept. 8, 2029 before taking on the Wildcats.  Â
Sam Houston now has three non-conference games scheduled for each year through 2029.  Â
The Bearkats are currently gearing up to open the upcoming 2026 season on Sept. 5 at Troy, before hosting Tulsa on Sept. 12 at the newly-renovated Bowers Stadium in Huntsville. Â
