Son of Yolanda Royston, who played volleyball for the Bearkats from 1988-91 and is in the Sam Houston Hall of Honor ... his mother finished with 1,179 kills, 1,279 digs and 337 blocks in her career and still ranks in the all-time SHSU top 25 in each of those categories
