Weston Glaser

Wester Glaser has helped guide the BEarkats to a 31-10 overall record, two conference championships and back-to-back NCAA national championship finals appearances since joining the coaching staff in July 2010.

Glaser assists with the defensive secondary and serves as video coordinator.

During his three seasons with the Kats, Glaser has worked with five defensive backs who have earned All-Southland Conference honors a total of 15 times. The quintet includes two-time Southland "Defensive Player of the Year" Darnell Taylor and all-time Bearkat interceptions leader Dax Swanson.

The 2012 Bearkats went 11-4 to earn the Southland Conference championship and advance to the NCAA Division I national championship game in Frisco for the second consecutive year. Sam Houston led the Southland in rushing defense, total defense and pass efficiency defense and ranked sixth nationally in rushing defense.

The 2011 defense that finished number one in the nation in several categories.  Glaser was a part of Sam Houston State's 14-1 Southland Conference championship which saw the Bearkats reach the NCAA Division I National finals in Frisco.

Glaser earned his degree from Sam Houston State University in History with a minor in Education.  He attended high school at Lorena High School in Waco, Tx.

Glaser is engaged to Laura Simon who is also a Sam Houston graduate and currently resides in Huntsville, Texas.
