Four-year starter at Clarendon HS in Texas … earned First Team All-District honors … also a standout track athlete ... was instrumental in leading Broncos to District 2-2 Division II championship ... in that district championship game against Wellington, Smith showcased his versatility and playmaking ability by completing 12 of 20 passes for 318 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 90 yards on 21 carries with two additional touchdowns. Defensively, he recorded 19 tackles, including 10 solo stops, two tackles for loss, and an interception ... over the course of the season, Smith accumulated 1,024 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns, threw for 925 yards and eight touchdowns, and made eight interceptions with 54 tackles on defense
