Sixteen years after beginning his undergraduate career at Sam Houston State, Dustin LeNorman returned to his alma mater as Head Athletic Trainer in August 2016 and was promoted to Associate AD for Sports Medicine in 2017.
LeNorman, who received his Bachelor of Science in Health from Sam Houston in 2007, is a current adjunct faculty member with the department of kinesiology as well as staff athletic trainer for USA Gymnastics. There, he has embarked on a variety of international competition coverage including multiple World Championships and World Cups.
After graduating from Sam Houston, LeNorman went on to receive his Masters in Athletic Training from Stephen F. Austin in 2009.
LeNorman spent seven years with Huntsville Memorial Hospital between July 2009 and August 2016, leading 17 athletic trainers while developing and coordinating the Sports Medicine Outreach Program, which supported 11 High Schools and Sam Houston State University.
During this time, he also supported the Bearkat Football program by working home/away games, starting IVs and other emergency medical services, as well as providing treatments of manual therapy and dry needling when consulted.
Additional experience includes serving as the associate athletic trainer for Justin Sports Medicine in since 2009, the Walker County Tactical Medic Team, and the Walker County Emergency Medical Technician.
The former Huntsville Fire Department Volunteer Firefighter holds a number of certifications including his Emergency Medical Technician-Advance, NASM-Corrective Exercise Specialist.
