Led Sulphur Springs High School to the Texas Class 4A Division II state championship in 2008 ... as a senior, completed 315-of-428 passes for 4,728 yards and 51 touchdowns and rushed for 1,094 yards ... in the state championship game alone he passed for 398 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 127 yards and three more scores ... as a junior he completed 296-of-423 passes for 3,691 yards and 37 touchdowns and rushed for 554 yards ... two-time All-State selection for head coach Greg Owens.
