Luke Pluymen, a native of Austin, enters his second season with the Bearkats, serving as the director of basketball operations.

Before coming to Huntsville, Pluymen played four years of college basketball, starting his career at St. Edward’s University in Austin. In the 2018-19 season, he was part of a historic run playing on the first team in school history to make the Division II NCAA Tournament (including the Sweet 16) and the most wins in a single season with a record of 30-4. The following year, the Hilltoppers had a record of 27-4 and were again set to play in the NCAA Tournament before it was canceled due to the pandemic. Pluymen played three years for the Hilltoppers and obtained his bachelor's in business administration.

Pluymen spent his final year playing at Sul Ross State University in Alpine while obtaining his MBA.

In high school, Pluymen played for legendary coach Robert Lucero at Westlake in Austin. He was a four-year letterman and starting point guard for three years, winning district MVP as a sophomore, and amassed a record of 114-26 while making the 6-A Regional Finals twice and the state championship semifinal once.
