Oderra Jones is in his first season on the Bearkat men’s basketball staff. Jones was a three-year basketball letterman at Bedford High School in Bedford, MA, He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management and communications at Eastern Connecticut State University in 2003. There, he competed as an intercollegiate freshman before turning his attention to coaching and administration.
While at Eastern Connecticut State, Jones interned with WCVN-TV in Boston and with the ECSU athletic marketing department. He also served as special events coordinator and administrative assistant for the Mohegan Wolves arena football team.
From 2005 to 2007, he served as director of basketball operations for Florida International University in Miami. At FIU, Jones was responsible for organizing film exchange and travel plans, coordinating the FIU Basketball Camp. He also has worked as a sports coordintor for the Greater YMCA of Miami and in marketing for the Orange Bowl Committe.
Jones also has worked at summer basketball camps for the University of Miami and the University of Florida. For the past year, he has served as a recreation programmer for the city of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
