A native of Denmark, Charlotte Collier came to Sam Houston from Ithaca College (NY) in 2002 to coach the throwers. She also serves as an instructor in the kinesiology department. Collier has competed in such prestigious events as the European Championships (1998) and the World University Games (1999). She set a Danish national record in the hammer.

Collier is a USATF Level II certified coach in the throws.

At Utah State, she was Big West Conference champion, three time NCAA qualifier, and conference record holder in the hammer. Her best NCAA national finish was 14th in 2000. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at Utah State in 2000 and a Master of Science degree in exercise and sports science from Ithaca in 2002.

“Charlotte does an outstanding job as a training planner, technical coach, and sports psychology advisor,” said Head Coach Curtis Collier. “Her background and her high standards contribute a great deal to our program.”

The former Charlotte Wahlin married Sam Houston State track coach Curtis Collier in summer 2002.
