Chie Koizumi joined the Sam Houston staff as assistant athletic trainer in August, 2012.
She attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she entered a CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Education Program and received her BS in Health, Physical Education, & Recreation with a concentration in Athletic Training in 2009.
Koizumi earned her MA in Health at Sam Houston State University in 2012 while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. She worked with men's/women's track and field, football and softball, having the opportunity to work both the NCAA track and field championships as well as the NCAA Division I national football championship playoffs.
She originally is from Gifu, Japan. She is a National Athletic Trainers Association certified athletic trainer as well as Texas licensed athletic trainer.
