Sherlyn Cartwright joined the Sam Houston State athletic staff on January 1, 2012.

She handles professional and recruiting travel and accounts payable for the Bearkat athletic department. She also serves as athletic assistant for marketing, men's basketball and soccer.

Before coming to the university, she worked The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America for 21 years as a Sales Support Associate.

She and her husband Bill Cartwright have three children and spouses, James & Serena Cartwright, Tim & Dunia Cartwright, Rebekah Cartwright & Andy Jaeb and 6 grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Daniel, Austin, Ariel and Delissa.
