Women place 10th at Challenge at Wolfdancer

Austin - Jennifer Heinz and Wendy Joyner placed 19th and 29th respectively as the Bearkat women's golf team completed its fall tournament schedule against a top-ranked field at the Challenge at Wolfdancer tournament hosted by Texas State-San Marcos.
In a 13-team field that included three nationally ranked teams, the Bearkats placed 10th with a score of 327-317-321--965. Northwestern University won the team title with a 911 total. Iowa State was the runner-up at 916, followed by Middle Tennessee 921, Baylor 924, Illinois 933, North Texas 934, Lamar and Texas State-San Marcos 939, Boston College 948, Sam Houston 949, Arkansas State 965, Texas A&M-Commerce 974, and Texas-El Paso 979.
Hannah Burke of Baylor was the individual medalist with a 72-78-67--217 total.
Other Sam Houston State finishes were Mariana Villarreal 35th 84-78-78--240; Landa Stewart 43rd 78-81-83--242, and Emily Bartholet 48th 82-77-85--244.
