Two Bearkats named Academic All-Southland

Megan McNamara, junior setter from The Woodlands, was a second team honoree and Katie Phillips, sophomore middle blocker from Spring, earned honorable mention selections on the 2007 Academic All-Southland volleyball squad.

McNamara has compiled a 3.50 cumulative grade point average majoring in health. She ranked 7th in the Southland Conference in assists (9.69 per game) this year. Phillips started every match for the Bearkats, leading the team in service aces this year. She has maintained a 3.53 GPA as an elementary education major
