Women produce high marks at Texas Tech Indoor track

LUBBOCK ? Jessica Fisher set a Sam Houston school record in winning the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.28 seconds and anchored the Kats winning 4x400 relay as the Bearkat women competed in their third meet of the indoor season at the Texas Tech Invitational.
Tiffany Singleton, Desiree Taylor, and Monika May joined Fisher as the Bearkats won the 4x400 with a school record time of three minutes, 44.16 seconds.
Dakota Stewart won the 800 meters with a season best time of two minutes, 17.46 seconds. The mark is the best 800 meter clocking in the Southland Conference so far this season.
Dess Meek tied the Sam Houston school indoor record in the high jump with a leap of five feet, eight inches to finish as runner-up in the event. Meek also placed six in the long jump with a mark of 17 feet, 11 inches.
Natalia Clark was the runner-up in the weight throw, throwing the 20 pound weight 59 feet, 3.0 inches. Clark has finished first or second in each of her three meets this season.
Karen Klintoe and Kristi Hermes finished third and fifth in the pole vault with marks of 11 feet, 3.75 inches. Klintoe was ranked ahead of Hermes on the basis of fewer misses.
Singleton placed fourth in the 400 meters with a season best time of 55.62 seconds.
