HOUSTON -- The Houston Cougars took the doubles match with a close 8-6 victory in the number three pro set to grab what proved to be the decisive point in a 4-3 non-conference women's tennis dual match for Sam Houston State Wednesday at the University of Houston Tennis Center.
Irina Sotnikova, Peta Taylor, and Patti Manzur won at number one, three, and five singles respectively. Sotnikova and Taylor paired to win the number one doubles.
Next action for the Sam Houston State women's tennis team will be a Southland Conference match on Wednesday, March 19, at Stephen F. Austin State
