WOMEN
Emily Erickson (Crowley High School)
Emily comes to SHSU with the intention of making an impact in the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon. As a junior, Emily qualified for 4A Region 1 championships in the 100-hurdles (15.4). She also boasts personal bests of 47.1 in the 300-hurdles and 5-4 in the high jump. Emily is the daughter of Sherry and Gary Erickson.
Tanell Evans (Lancaster High School)
As a member of Lancaster High School's 4x100-relay and 4x200-relay, Tanell is a four time state medalist, and was a state champion in both events in 2007. As a student at Lancaster, Tanell was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated in the Top 10 percent of her class. She is the daughter of Natasha and Derrick Evans.
Victoria Gemeny (Forth Worth Paschal High School)
As an athlete at Paschal High School, Victoria was a two-time regional qualifier in cross country. She was also named the MVP of the Paschal High School team as both a junior and senior. At the 2008 Cowtown Half-Marathon, Victoria ran 1:28:38 for a second-place finish. Victoria is the daughter of Shawn & Nick Wirsdorfer.
Courtney Lueders (La Grange High School)
A four-time regional qualifier and two-time state qualifier while in high school, Courtney comes to SHSU with a background in the sprints and pole vault. As a senior, Courtney finish sixth at the UIL state championships in the 400 and ran the anchor leg of her 4x400-relay team that finished fifth. She is also a two-time regional qualifier in the pole vault. She holds personal bests of 58.30 in the 400 and 10-6 in the pole vault.
Ambra McCuin (Lancaster High School)
With personal bests of 18-11 ? in the long jump and 39-9 ? in the triple jump, Ambra has established herself as one of the top horizontal jumpers in the state of Texas. In 2008, Ambra won her fourth and fifth district championships and her first berth at the UIL state championships, at which she finished third in the triple jump.
Pashe' Moore (Bryan High School)
With her ability to run both hurdle races, Pashe' will contribute immediately to the SHSU hurdle crew. This past track season, Pashe' won her second district championship and earn a berth at the UIL State Championships where she finished sixth in the 100-hurdles. She is an eight-time regional qualifier in the 100-hurdles, 300-hurdles, and 4x100-relay. She has a personal best of 14.48 in the 100-hurdles and 45.20 in the 300-hurdles.
Haleigh Pustka (Brazos High School)
Haleigh is a five-time district champion in cross country and track and field. As a junior, Haleigh pulled the district triple crown by winning the cross country individual championship, the 1,600 district championship, and the 3,200 district championship. She has twice finished among the top 10 at the UIL state cross country championship with her best finish coming in 2007 when she finished fourth. Haleigh boasts personal bests of 5:15.4 for the 1,600, 11:40.7 for the 3,200, and 19:18 for the 5,000 which she ran at the 2007 Foot Locker South Cross Country Championships. As a junior, Haleigh finished 29th in the Congress Avenue Mile running 5:08.78. She was also named to the Cross Country academic all-state team in 2007. Haleigh finished firth at the UIL 2A Region IV championships in the 3,200 run with a personal best time of 11:37.81. She also finished second at the UIL state championships in the 1,600. She is the daughter of Diane Garner.
Kris Wulfson (A&M Consolidated High School)
Kris comes to SHSU after a successful high school career in which she qualified for the UIL 5A Region II championships in 2007 and 2008. She boasts a personal best of 12-0 which ranks her among the top 10 vaulters in the state in 2008.
Jenny Zoch (Giddings High School)
Jenny comes to SHSU as a two-time state qualifier in the shot put. In 2007 she placed seventh and followed that up in 2008 with a third-place finish thanks to a mark of 39-9 ?. She graduated in the top 10 percent of her class at Giddings High School and is the daughter of James Zoch.
