HUNTSVILLE ? First baseman Joe Sparacino's two-run double powered Southeastern Louisiana to a three-run seventh inning as the Lions came from behind to end Sam Houston State's 10-game winning streak 5-3 in a Southland Conference baseball game Friday at Don Sanders Stadium.

Southeastern Louisiana (24-17, SLC 13-9) totaled its five runs on seven hits.

Sam Houston (28-14, SLC 14-8) took an early 2-0 lead after RBIs by shortstop Jon Reed and Tyler Knight in the first inning.

Southeastern Louisiana scored three runs in the seventh and another in the eighth to go up 5-2.

First baseman Joe Sparacino doubled to score two, then tallied on a sacrifice fly by pinch hitter Chris Ernest in the three-run inning. Summerlin doubled in the eighth and scored on a single by Cryer.

Sam Houston picked up a run in the eighth as first basemanNick Zaleski singled, was doubled to third by Reed, then scored on a ground out by catcher Mark Wyatt.

The 10-game winning streak the past two weeks is the longest for Sam Houston since moving up to the NCAA Division I level. The Bearkats won 13 in a row in 1986, their last year as a Division II competitor.

Ryan Boudreaux (6-2) spread eight hits over seven and a third innings to pick up the win for Southeastern Louisiana. He struck out three Bearkats. Chris Franklin moved to pitcher from third base to pick up the final five outs and earn his 10^th save of the season.

Sean Weatherford (5-4) gave up seven hits and struck out four as the losing pitcher for Sam Houston State. Will Skelton pitched in relief.
