SHSU men 8th in SLC golf after second round

KERRVILLE, TX -- Sam Houston State remains in 8th place after 36 holes in the Southland Conference men's golf tournament being played on the par 72, 7,304-yard course at The Club at Comanche Trace.
The 54-hole event concludes with the third round on Wednesday.
The Lamar Cardinals lead the team competition with a 567 total. Texas-Arlington is five strokes back at 572, followed by Southeastern Louisiana 580, Texas-San Antonio 583, Stephen F. Austin 588, Central Arkansas 589, Texas-San Marcos 596, Sam Houston 600, McNeese State 616 and Nicholls State 627.
Zack Fischer of UTA leads the individual medalist competition with a one-under-par score of 67-68--135. Kyle Collins of UTSA is in second place at 71-68--139.
Scott Kelly leads the Bearkats, ranking 15th individually with a two-day total of 75-72--147. Fergal Rafferty is one stroke back tied for 20th with a78-70--148 score.
Other Sam Houston State standings included Caleb LeNorman (25th) 75-74--149, J. R. Hurley (40th) 81-75--156 and Beau Willis (47th) 81-79--160.
