Stevens earns Southland monthly honor

Sam Houston State senior Megann Stevens has been named the Southland Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for November the league office announced Wednesday.
Stevens, a native of Katy, Texas (Cinco Ranch), recorded a second-place finish after shooting an opening round 72 in the rain-shortened McNeese State Tournament. Stevens also guided Sam Houston State to a third place finish in the tournament.
UTSA junior Summer Batiste received honorable mention for the award, after receiving at least 25 percent of the votes from Southland sports information directors.
