NORMAN, Okla. -- Morgan Hook scored 25 points and set an Oklahoma freshman record with seven 3-pointers, leading the 11th-ranked Sooners to a 94-45 victory against Sam Houston State on Wednesday night.
Sam Houston (5-3) was led by Sequeena Thomas with 15 points and nine rebounds. Chanice Smith added 13 points and nine boards.
The Bearkats opened the game with a 4-0 lead, but Hook came off the bench and scored seven straight points to put Oklahoma (7-0) ahead 11-6. The Sooners never trailed again. She made her first five shots, including three 3-pointers, as Oklahoma charged out to a 28-point halftime lead.
Preseason All-America point guard Danielle Robinson added 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals for the Sooners.
Britni Martin scored eight points for Sam Houston. The Bearkats struggled from the field, hitting only 18-of-71 for 25.4 per cent. The Sooners dominated on the boards, pulling down 58 rebounds to 38 for Sam Houston State.
The Bearkats return home to play host to Grambling State Monday at 6:30 p.m.
