SAN ANTONIO, TX - Sam Houston's three four-year seniors all scored in double figures but it wasn't enough to slow down UTSA as the Roadrunners rolled up a 74-55 Southland Conference women's basketball victory over the Kats Wednesday night.
Ray Alexander led Sam Houston (5-15, SLC 2-6) with 14 points. Brittany Brooks added 13 points and Whitney Smith hit 11. Judy Jones was the game's top scorer with 26 points. Jones went 8-of-14 from the field and 10-of-14 from the free throw line.
Sam Houston jumped out to a quick three-point lead as Brooks hit a lay-up two-and-a-half minutes into the contest. But UTSA came roaring back with a 23-6 run to go up 23-9 with 8:40 to go in the first half.
The Roadrunners never trailed again, eventually going up by as many as 27 points late in the game.
