Men's golf tied for lead at Southland

Springfield, La -- Sam Houston State and Central Arkansas are tied for first place and Southeastern Louisiana and UTSA both stand three strokes back after the first 18 holes of the 2010 Southland Conference men's golf championship Monday.
The tournament is being played on the 7,234-yard par 72 course at Carter Plantation Golf Club.
The Bearkats and the Bears both produced three-over team totals of 291. Southeastern Louisiana and UTSA followed at 294. Stephen F. Austin stands fifth with a 297 total followed by four-time defending Southland men's champion Lamar in sixth place at 299. Filling out the remainder of the team standings are UT-Arlington 301, Texas State 306, Nicholls 313 and McNeese State.
Justin McKay turned in the top score for the Bearkats, shooting a one-under 71. Garrett Driver was even par 72, Fergal Rafferty one-over 73, Scott Kelly three-over 75 and Beau Willis six-over 78.
The tournament continues through Wednesday afternoon.
