Women rally for victory

Sam Houston State pulled off a clean sweep of team tiles as the Bearkats hosted the Harold Funston Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Raven Nest Golf Course.
The Bearkat women won by two strokes, edging Redlands 590 to 592.
Sarah Schober of Redlands Community College won the women's individual title with a one-under 71-70-141.
Shelby Hardy led Sam Houston with a third place finish, firing a two-over 72-72-144.
Other Sam Houston finishes were Meghan Musk 5th (72-74-146), Christina Stringham 9th (76-72-148), Jessica Borth 13th (77-75-152) and Jackie Smith 20th (79-76-155).
Saint Edwards placed third in the team competition with a 599 followed by A&M-Corpus Christi 604, Stephen F. Austin 626, Texas-Pan American and Oklahoma Christian 628, Tyler Junior College 657, Texas Southern 665, Centenary 677, Concordia 695 and Houston-Victoria 734.
