Guidelines for Baseball/Softball clarified

The right field hill area is a popular gathering place for fans and SHSU athletics wants it to stay that way. However, there are a few guidelines that need to be followed. The first is the parking situation on the hill. The policy that is in place is vehicles are not allowed on "medians, unmarked areas, or unpaved areas unless authorized by SHSU Athletics and UPD."
Parking will not be allowed on the grass or along the curb on Sycamore Avenue or along Bowers Boulevard. Violators of this policy are subject to be towed. Another change from last year is fans will not be allowed to sit or stand in the grass areas along Bowers Boulevard as a safety concern. Also, pets are no longer allowed in the designated "tailgate" area at Don Sanders Stadium or the softball complex.
Also, the Texas State University System policy on alcohol will continue to be enforced. All alcoholic beverages must be contained in an unmarked, non transparent plastic cup. No glass bottles, cans, kegs etc. are allowed. Alcohol consumption will be monitored by UPD and any problems that occur will be handled by UPD. Minor consumption violations will be ticketed.
These are the same policies that are in place for tailgating at Bowers Stadium for football games and because of increased liability issues, will be enforced this season at all SHSU athletic events.
"With the success of our baseball and softball programs, interest in both sports has grown over the years and, in some areas, created game management issues," Director of Athletics Bobby Williams said."Providing a safe and quality fan experience for those that attend our games is a high priority. By formalizing a set of rules for those who view the games from outside the two venues, we hope to achieve this goal. We appreciate our fans' cooperation and continued support."
