Johnson has announced his retirement at the end of the 2011 season. Going into Tuesday's road game at Dallas Baptist, the Bearkats' head coach owns a career record of 1,025 victories, 548 losses and three ties.
He ranks No. 17 among active NCAA Division I baseball coaches and is one of only 48 head coaches in the game's history to post more than 1,000 career wins.
Graham brings an 886-351 coaching mark into Wednesday's 6:30 p.m. contest.
In his years as head coach at both Texas A&M and Sam Houston, Johnson has met up with Graham and his Rice Owls 48 times.
The Bearkats won 7-0 in Houston March 8 in the pair's last meeting, knocking the Owls out of a No. 14 national ranking at the time.
Johnson has directed the Bearkats to three victories over Rice in the last four years. The first two were at Sanders Stadium with SHSU winning 3-2 in 2008 and 5-2 in 2009.
Rice brings a 16-11 record to Huntsville Wednesday night. Sam Houston is 17-8 with a five -game winning streak going into Tuesday's contest at Dallas Baptist.
