Demons edge Kats 4-3

Tatyana Postnikova, Sheridan Currie and Anrinette Botah all won their singles matches, but the Bearkats dropped the doubles point and Northwestern State took the other three singles to give the Demons a 4-3 Southland Conference dual match victory Sunday.
The match was the final home outing for the Bearkat tennis team. Sam Houston will close out the regular season next Saturday and Sunday with road matches at UTSA and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Sam Houston is attempting to finish among the top eight teams in the final league standings to earn a spot in the Southland post-season tournament in Corpus Christi.
The loss Sunday drops Sam Houston to 7-7 for the year and 4-4 in Southland action. Northwestern State remains in second place in the league race, standing 15-4 for the season and 8-1 in conference play
