Baylor Bears Visit The Don

Sam Houston State plays host to Baylor Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Don Sanders Stadium in the Kats' only non-conference action this week.
The Bears bring a 17-12 overall record to Huntsville.
Baylor is led by freshman first baseman Max Muncy who is hitting a solid .342 with four doubles, two triples and two home runs.
Right hander Jon Ringenberg will be on the mound for Baylor. The senior owns a 2-0 record and has produced a 2.35 earned run average this season.
Sam Houston will counter with freshman Cody Dickson who has rolled up a 3-1 record in non-conference games this year.
Senior second baseman Ryan Mooney continues to have a hot bat for the Bearkats, hitting .380.
After nine home games in the past 13 days, Sam Houston heads on the road for a Southland weekend series at McNeese State in Lake Charles, La., beginning Friday night.
Sam Houston State's Brandon Kimbrel was named as Southland Conference baseball "Pitcher of the Week" Monday.
Kimbrel pitched the second complete game of the season for Sam Houston State in a 3-0 victory over Northwestern State. The senior from Cameron, Texas (Yoe), had nine strikeouts, allowed seven hits and walked only one in the Bearkats victory.
With the victory Sunday, Sam Houston upped its season record to 19-11. The Bearkats currently stand tied for sixth place in the 2011 Southland Conference race with a 6-6 league mark.
