Sam Houston holds a 40-13 match record at the mid-point of their 2011-12 schedule. This fall the Bearkats won both the Kat Klash Classic and the Battle of the Piney Woods events and placed third among top fields at the Greater Ozark Invitational and the New Jersey Jamboree.
"The team has been able to accomplish a lot this year so far," SHSU head coach Brad Hagen. "The highlight, of course, was what we were able to do in front of our hometown crowd at the Kat Klash. This team has the passion and work ethic to do great things next half. As long as we can stay true to ourselves and remain focused, we will get where we want to go."
Arkansas State University is the host for the Mid-Winter Invitational which begins Friday morning. The event will be played at the Jonesboro Bowling Center.
Eight top 20 ranked teams including seven of the top 10 squads in the fall National Ten Pins Coaches Association rankings will be in the field.
