Dayna Galganski from North Palm Beach Florida, arrived at SHSU in 2010 with two years of competitive collegiate bowling experience already under her belt and hasn't looked back sense joining the Bearkats. Dayna's been a consistent leader for the Bearkats earning not only NTCA All American Honors but Academic NTCA All American Honors as well last season. Dayna was the First NTCA All American Honoree of SHSU's Bowling Program History and Co-First NTCA Academic All American.
She was named as "Most Valuable" student-athlete at the Florida A&M Rattler Classic after leading the Bearkats to a first place finish and finished in the top 25 of every event except for one. Dayna finished last season with 3 All Tournament Team Honors, 4 Top 10 finishes, and a trip to the NCAA Nationals with the rest of her teammates.
"Dayna has been a great addition to this roster and a leader from the get go. She has made an immediate impact right from the get go as a leader and as a major contributor on the lanes and in the class room," SHSU bowling coach Brad Hagen said. "Dayna's drive and intensity is exactly what this team always needs in its corner. I'm really looking for Dayna to go out with a bang this year and leave it all out there."
Along with Galganski's successful collegiate career on the club level, her time with Jr. Team USA was just as impressive posting some very notable accomplishments while competing internationally. While representing Junior Team USA and competing at the 2009 Tournament of the Americas Galganski went on to win three gold medals, two silver and one bronze.
Since 2006 she also added some regional success with while participating in the Kegel Youth Point Series winning four titles (three women's division champion, one overall [men & women] division champion) as well as continues to qualify and contend at the national level.
Dayna finished the 2010-2011 inaugural season with a team leading best 196.39 for 41 games. Her best finish of the season was a MVP winning best at the FAMU Invitational in her home state of Florida.
