Triple-Header Begins at 2 p.m.

The Kats will take on the Liberty Flames at 2 p.m. and will follow with a double header against the Buffalo Bulls.
Sam Houston swept a doubleheader at Houston Baptist a week ago Tuesday in their last outing, winning 5-0 and 6-3. Liberty brings a 6-7 mark to town while Buffalo enters the contest 5-8.
"We had to opportunity to play two visiting teams from the Northeast on spring break tours of Texas and that's how we came up with the triple header," SHSU head coach Bob Brock said. "Missing last weekend's games due to rain, we need to get out and play."
Three Sam Houston starters come into the contest hitting above .300 with outfielder Tori Benavidez (.367), first baseman Kim Damian (.358) and Alyssa Coggins (.333) leading the way. Tomi Garrison, Shelby Lancaster and Meme Quinn have seen the most action in the pitching circle.
Kelby Allen (.500) and Katie Zavodny (.400) lead Liberty and Holly Luciano (.314) is the Bull's top hitter.
Sam Houston will open its Southland Conference schedule at Nicholls State in Thibodaux, La., Friday and Saturday.
