The Patriots come to Huntsville Tuesday with a 15-7 record after earning their third straight weekend series win with an 11-3 victory over Louisiana Tech Sunday.
Sam Houston stands 14-9 for the year and is tied for first place in the Southland Conference after a three-game sweep of Texas State.
In the two team's 11 meetings since 2006, the Patriots hold a 6-3 edge over the Bearkats. DBU won last year's game 5-3 in Dallas.
Anthony Azar (.388), Jake Arrington (.348), Kevin Miller (.342), Colt Atwood (.319), Ryan O'Hearn (.313) and Luke Plucheck (.312) give Sam Houston six starters hitting more than .300.
The Kats own a .298 team batting average and possess a 3.55 team earned run average and .967 fielding men.
Austin Elkins (.349), Boomer Collins (.329) and Joel Hunter (.321) lead Dallas Baptist at the plate.
The Dallas Baptist game is the first of two midweek home contests for the Bearkats. Sam Houston plays host to Texas Southern Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The Kats will return to Southland Conference action this weekend, taking on UTSA in San Antonio.
