Hardy runner-up at SFA

Shelby Hardy of Sam Houston State finished as the runner-up in the individual medalist competition and the Bearkats placed fourth as a team at the Stephen F. Austin Crown Classic Monday and Tuesday.
The event was played on the par 72, 6,092-yard course at Crown Colony Golf Club near Lufkin.
Hardy fired an 11-over-par score of 71-83-73--227 to finish one stroke behind individual medalist champion Julie Aime of Lamar.
Lamar won the team title with a 54-hole total of 952. Texas A&M was the team runner-up with a 957 total followed by Redlands 984, Sam Houston 986 and Oklahoma City 996. There were 12 teams in the field.
Other Sam Houston finishes included Meghan Musk (77-83-85--245) 13th, Jessica Borth (85-85-86--256) 29th, Christina Stringham (87-90-84--261) 38th and Jackie Smith (87-87-88--262) 40th.
