Kats stand 21 in two national polls

The "Collegiate Baseball" newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll, dating back to 1957. The Bearkats have been ranked as high as No. 20 in the Collegiate Baseball poll, This week Collegiate baseball moved SHSU from 22 up to No. 21.
Sam Houston also stands No. 21 in the Baseball America poll which has the Bearkats' opponent Tuesday night at Don Sanders Stadium, Texas A&M, at No. 9 in the country.
Ranked No. 25 last week in the USA Today/Coaches poll , the Kats now stand at the head of the list of all teams receiving votes.
Sam Houston debuted in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll at No. 29 but has climbed in the past two weeks to No. 27.
The Bearkats meet Texas A&M at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday then head on the road to take on UT-Arlington Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Mavericks stand in third place in the Southland Conference, five games behind league-leading Sam Houston State.
Sam Houston State stands 31-12 for the year and 19-5 in Southland Conference action.
