Adams helped lead the Bearkats to three victories in four games including a Southland Conference doubleheader split with UTSA Friday.
The Elgin product produced a .600 batting average for the week with six hits in 10 at bats. During Sam Houston's 8-3 victory over UTSA Friday night, Adams became only the sixth player in more than 40 years of SHSU softball history to hit two home runs in one game.
The freshman also went 3-for-4 in a doubleheader sweep Tuesday over Houston Baptist.
A week ago, Kim Damian and Tomi Garrison were honored as Southland Conference "Hitter" and "Pitcher of the Week."
Sam Houston State has won 14 of its last 17 softball games and stands in third place in the Southland Conference with a 7-3 league mark.
The Bearkats play host to Texas Southern in a 4 p.m. non-conference doubleheader Tuesday at the Bearkat Softball Complex. This weekend, Sam Houston returns to Southland softball action with an important two-day series in Lake Charles, La., against McNeese State.
