Kats ranked No. 29 in NCBWA poll

After dropping their first Southland conference series of the season, the Sam Houston State baseball team remained ranked in the NCBWA poll, checking in at No. 29.
It is a drop of four spots from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, which is the only poll the Kats remain ranked. The Bearkats have been ranked as high as No. 20 this season.
They had a 1-3 week, dropping two games to Texas-Arlington over the weekend and lost to No. 9 Texas A&M on Tuesday. The Bearkats have now been ranked for seven weeks by at least one of the four major college baseball polls.
The Bearkats are currently 20-7 in Southland Conference play and hold a three game lead over second place Southeastern Louisiana (17-10) with just six games left to play. The Lions will be in Huntsville this weekend in a pivotal conference series starting Friday night at 6:30.
