Tennis Opens At Corpus Christi

The Sam Houston women's tennis team begins its 2012 fall schedule this weekend as the Bearkats travel to Corpus Christi to compete in the Marco & Co. Catering Islanders Open.
SHSU returns all seven players from the Bearkat squad that reached the semifinals of the Southland Conference post-season tournament last April.
Imke Jagu, Sheridan Currie, Natalie Petaia, Tatyana Postnikova, Nadia Dubyanskaya, Olivia Batye and Kayla Stevenson all had a hand in leading Sam Houston to a 12-9 record last spring.
Maddie Mortimore, a freshman from London, England, joins the team this year as a freshman.
Lamar, Texas-San Antonio, Houston, Texas-Pan American and host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will compete in the tournament along with the Bearkats.
