USTA/ITA Action For Kats In Waco

The Sam Houston women's tennis team travels to Waco Thursday to participate in the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championships hosted by Baylor University.
The field features 128 singles players and 64 doubles pairings from 17 universities will be competing.
First round singles matches for the Bearkats include Mila Milanovic against Eva Dench from Texas State, Bailey Van Dyke versus Danielle Wagland from the University of Texas, Caitlyn Mitchell against Jelena Dzinic of A&M-Corpus Christi and Fabienne Gettwart versus Nada Marjanovic of Abilene Christian.
Maddie Mortimore and Karen Martinez both received first round byes. Mortimore will face Katherine Ip from Rice and Martinez will meet up with Lynn Kiro of Texas Tech.
Doubles pairings for the Bearkats this weekend include the teams of Milanovic and Mitchell and Gettwart and VanDyke.
The tournament is the third event on the fall schedule for the Bearkat women's tennis team.
