Three named College Sports Madness All-Southland

Allie Johnson, Mariah Titus and Shelby McDaniel have been named to College Sports Madness' All-Southland teams announced this week.
Johnson and Titus are members of the first-team while McDaniel is a second-team member.
Johnson, a sophomore forward, finished the regular season tied for the Southland lead in goals (eight) with the Player of the Year Zuri Prince. She became the fifth sophomore in school history to score at least eight goals. Johnson was also second on the team with three assists.
An attacking midfielder, Titus led the Bearkats with four assists this season. She led the team with eight goals a year ago but has been more of a facilitator this season.
McDaniel plays as the main creative force in the midfield for Sam Houston. She scored five goals and dished out two assists. McDaniel has started all but one game this season.
It's been a historic season for Sam Houston. The Kats posted a school record eight league wins and scored another SHSU record 23 goals in conference play. They also earned a bye in the Southland Tournament for the first time ever. The Kats will be looking to make just their second tournament final ever as they play the winner of the No. 3 Houston Baptist and No. 6 Southeastern Louisiana matchup in the semifinals Friday at 4:30 p.m.
