Bearkats to open 2026 soccer season at OSU

HUNTSVILLE — Second-year head coach Kendall Ayers has announced the 2026 Sam Houston soccer schedule, a slate that features seven home matches, six Conference USA contests and a demanding non-conference schedule against several regional opponents.

The Bearkats will begin the season with four consecutive road matches, opening on Aug. 12 at Oklahoma State before traveling to Lamar on Aug. 16 and Texas A&M on Aug. 22. Sam Houston wraps up its opening road swing with a trip to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Aug. 27.

Sam Houston returns to Huntsville for its home opener on Sept. 3 against UTRGV at Pritchett Field before hosting Texas Southern on Sept. 6. The Bearkats will make one final non-conference road trip to Houston on Sept. 10 before closing out the non-league schedule at home against McNeese on Sept. 13 for Senior Night and Texas A&M-San Antonio on Sept. 21.

The 2026 Conference USA schedule begins Sept. 26 when Sam Houston hosts Kennesaw State in Huntsville. The Bearkats then travel to Kentucky to face WKU on Oct. 1 before visiting Middle Tennessee on Oct. 4.

Conference play continues with a home matchup against NM State on Oct. 11, followed by a road contest at Jax State on Oct. 17. Sam Houston closes its home schedule with consecutive matches against FIU on Oct. 22 and Liberty on Oct. 25 before wrapping up the regular season Oct. 31 at Delaware.
