Track Kat Klash First Day Results

No. 1 ranked Arkansas State won five of its six matches and produced a pin fall total of 4.878 to stand atop the standings after the first day of the Track Kat Klash women's bowling tournament at the Palace Lanes in Houston.
Sam Houston State, two-time tournament defending champion, is hosting the event for the third year in a row.
No. 6 Stephen F. Austin went 3-3 but knocked down 4,777 pins to rank second. LIU-Brooklyn (4,655), Vanderbilt (4,649) and Nebraska (4,628) complete the top five in the standings.
Sam Houston (3-3 on Friday) stands sixth with 4,627 pins.

The Kats' victory over No. 2 ranked Nebraska marked the team's second win over the Huskers this season. Sam Houston's 3-3 performance Friday ups the team's 2013-14 dual match record to 64 victories and only 32 losses.
"Friday was a day of highs and lows for us," SHSU head coach Brad Hagen said. "We have another great opportunity here against a great field. We'll have to keep our focus Saturday."
The teams return to action Saturday in traditional team play.
