Saturday's Track Kat Klash Results

No. 1 ranked Arkansas State rolled unbeaten through its competition Saturday to earn the day's top honors again at the Track Kat Klash women's bowling tournament.
The Red Wolves totaled 6,396 pins as they won all five of their matches in traditional five-player team player in the event hosted by Sam Houston at the Palace Lanes in Houston.
Nebraska stood second in Saturday's standings with a 4-1 record and 5,977 pins.
Wisconsin-Whitewater (3-3, 5,888), Vanderbilt (4-1, 5,873) and Valparaiso (4-2, 5,865) rounded out the top five.
Stephen F. Austin (3-2, 5,844), Sam Houston (3-3, 5,740), Saint Francis NY (3-3, 5,717), Alabama State (4-2, 5,590) and Monmouth (2-3, 5,534) took places six through 10, respectively.
It was an up-and-down day again for the Bearkats.
Janine Kuwahara led Sam Houston with 1,307 total pins for a 217.8 average, fourth best individual performance on the day. Anna Groce (192.6 average) placed 32nd and Kimi Davidson (187.2) was 37th.
The Bearkats opened the day with a 1,016-986 loss to No. 16 LIU-Brooklyn but bounced back for a 1,025-984 win over No. 13 Saint Francis (NY).
No. 1 Arkansas State handed the Kats a 1,025-943 loss. Then, the SHSU women fell in a heart-breaker to No. 9 Wisconsin-Whitewater. With the match knotted 924-924, UWW won 128-98 in the tiebreaker.
The Bearkats rebounded with wins of 950-885 and 912-651 over unranked Monmouth and Grambling.
“Saturday was another day where we hurt ourselves at times,” SHSU head coach Brad Hagen said. “When we stayed aggressive and figure things out quickly, things went better."
The tournament ends Sunday .
