Sabrina Starr 15th in NCAA 60 meter hurdles

Sabrina Starr finished 15th in the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field women's 60 meter hurdles Friday night.
Running in the second heat, the Bearkat senior was clocked in at 8.34.
"Any time you're at the national championships you let it soak in for a second," head coach David Self said. "That's one of the things I told Sabrina was to enjoy the experience. We were warming up and I think it really kind of hit her."
Jasmine Jowers of LSU was the top finisher in the prelims with a time of 7.98. Eight runners moved on to Saturday's finals.
"I'm as proud as I can be," Self said. "It wasn't her best performance but I kept telling her you're 15th in the United States; not 15th in the state or conference."
Starr is the second woman and only the third Bearkat to compete in the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships.
She ranked No. 12 nationally in the NCAA women's 60-meter hurdles.
