Southland Champs Sign 11 Women Athletes

Sam Houston State announced Thursday the names of 11 student-athletes who have signed letters-of-intent to compete for the Bearkats' Southland Conference championship women's track and field teams next season.
“We are very excited about this year's signing class,” Sam Houston head coach David Self said. “It is one of the largest we have had here at Sam Houston and is definitely one of the most talent rich classes we have ever had. Almost every member is a multiple time state meet qualifier or medalist. We wanted to have a well balanced approach across all of the event areas and this class succeeds in doing that.
“The women's team really did not have any holes to fill after winning both last year's indoor and outdoor Southland championships team titles. What we have done is just add to the depth of an already very strong program.
