The visit by No. 19 ranked Texas A&M to the Bearkat Softball Complex set for Wednesday has been postponed due to rain.
A new date for the game in Huntsville will be announced at a later time.
The Aggies run-ruled the Kats one week ago in College Station, winning 9-1. Since then, however, Texas A&M hit a bump in the road, losing two of three at Mississippi State last weekend. A&M now stands 21-7 for the year.
Sam Houston owns an 8-17 season mark. The Bearkats took one of their three games with Nicholls in the SHSU women's second Southland Conference series of the year.
The Kats' leading hitter, third baseman Peyton Webb, produced Sam Houston's only run in the loss in Aggieland last Wednesday. Webb blasted her fifth home run of the season in the fourth inning. Second baseman Dani Allen provided the Bearkats their only other hit in the game with a single in the first inning.
Webb and Allen lead Sam Houston hitting this year with averages of .380 and .312.
Aggie right fielder Tori Vidales led A&M last week going 3-for-3 at the plate. Vidales is Texas A&M's top threat at the plate with a .333 batting average.
The Aggies feature an outstanding pitching staff that has compiled a 2.73 earned run average in their 28 games. Texas A&M's hurlers are limiting their opposition to a .286 batting average.
Wednesday's game will mark Sam Houston's final home appearance in March. The Bearkats take to the road for weekend series at Northwestern State on March 20 and 21 and Southeastern Louisiana on March 27 and 28.
Sam Houston returns to the Softball Complex for a league series with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday and Saturday April 3-4.
