Bearkats Remain No. 7 In March NTCA Rankings

Sam Houston State's defending NCAA national champion women's bowling team remains No. 7 in the National Ten Pins Coaches Association (NTCA) March national rankings.

The top seven teams remain the same with Nebraska in the top spot, followed by Fairleigh Dickinson, Arkansas State, Central Missouri, Stephen F. Austin, Vanderbilt and the Bearkats. Wisconsin-Whitewater, Maryland-Eastern Shore and North Carolina A&T stand eighth through 10th in the rankings.

The March poll is the final ranking prior to the 2015 NCAA Championships to be played Thursday through Saturday, April 9-11, at the Tropicana Lanes in Saint Louis, Missouri.

With one regular season tournament remaining, Sam Houston owns an 84-40 dual match record this season. The Bearkats stand 24-24 against the other nine teams in the NTCA Top 10. Sam Houston is 46-32 overall against the top 20.

McKendree remains No. 11 in the rankings, followed by Saint Francis (Penn.), Sacred Heart, LIU-Brooklyn, Saint Francis Brooklyn, Valparaiso, Delaware State, Norfolk State, Kutztown and UAB.

Sam Houston's final regular season action will take place this Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22, at the inaugural Southland Bowling League Championships in Houston.
