Softball at Demon Diamond Saturday rained out

The third game of Sam Houston State's Southland Conference softball series with Northwestern State in Natchitoches has been canceled due to rain.
The contest was scheduled to be played a 1 p.m. at Demon Diamond. The game will not be rescheduled.
The Demons are tied for first place in the Southland Conference softball race with a perfect 8-0 record. Northwestern State, two-time defending Southland Conference tournament champion, swept a doubleheader from Sam Houston by scores of 5-2 and 8-0 Friday afternoon.
Should the two teams be unable to play Sunday due to field conditions, the next action for the Sam Houston softball team will be another Louisiana road series, this time at Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond next Friday and Saturday.
