
Kats, Cowboys In SLC Battle After Rain Delay

With rain and lightning delays for more than half the day Tuesday, six five teams were able to complete second round play in the 52nd Southland Conference Men's Golf Championships in McKinney.
The tournament is being held on the par 72, 7,219-yard Dye Course at Stonebridge Country Club.
Sam Houston, McNeese State and Houston Baptist, the three team leaders after Monday's first round, still have golfers yet to complete the second round. Play will begin at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
McNeese State erased Sam Houston's six-stroke lead to stand atop the team standings by one. The Cowboys are seven-over as a team while the Bearkats are eight-over. HBU is 27 strokes back of Sam Houston with a 35-over team total.
Of the teams that were able to complete the second round when play was resumed at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Southeastern Louisiana stands in fourth place at 611 followed by Lamar 618, Incarnate Word 623, Abilene Christian 626, Nicholls 630 and Central Arkansas 633.
J. T. Taylor of Sam Houston and Andreas Krokeide of McNeese are tied for the individual medalist leadership. Both are two-under. Andrew Ertel is in seventh place individually at two-over.
