Tickets for Sunday's Sam Houston / Houston Dash women's soccer doubleheader at BBVA Compass Stadium on now on sale.
The Bearkats will take on Rice at 4 p.m. in an NCAA Division college match. At 7 p.m. the Dash plays host to the Boston Breakers in Houston's final home contest of the 2015 season.
Tickets which include seats for both matches are $25.
But Sam Houston fans who purchase their tickets either online at www.gobearkats.com or the Bearkat athletic ticket office at Bowers Stadium before 2 p.m. Saturday can purchase tickets at the special SHSU discount rate of $10 for adults and $5 for Bearkat students with an active Bearkat Onecard.
BBVA Compass Stadium in downtown Houston is the home of both the Houston Dynamo and the Dash.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to play Rice at BBVA Stadium,” Brown said. “I appreciate the Houston Dash allowing us to play as part of a doubleheader before their game against Boston. BBVA Stadium is a first class soccer facility and the grass surface will be a pleasure to play on.”
Sam Houston is off to its best season start ever. The Bearkats won a pair of preseason scrimmages and stand 2-0 for the regular season after road victories over Louisiana-Lafayette and UTSA.
The Owls will be the Kats' biggest challenge so far this year. Rice returns seven of 11 starters from last season's squad that posted a school record-tying 14 wins, won the C-USA Tournament Championship and advanced to national postseason play in the NCAA Tournament.
Under the same ownership as Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo, the Dash have shined in two seasons of play, including hosting a record crowd of 13,025 fans to welcome back its returning World Cup champion trio of Carli Lloyd, Meghan Klingenberg and Morgan Brian.
“I think that players from both teams will enjoy getting to stay and watch the Houston Dash play,” Brown said. “It is important that we support the NWSL and professional women's soccer in the United States.
“The success of this league is vital to continue to provide a place that our future national team players to develop and play. Coaches such as Randy Waldrum can provide a daily training environment for our elite players.”
The $95 million facility, which holds 7,000 fans in its lower sections and 22,000 total, opened its doors in May 2012 and plays host to the Dynamo, Dash, Texas Southern football as well as a variety of other sporting events and concerts.
The Sam Houston ticket office is located on the west side of Elliott T. Bowers Stadium. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday. The ticket office telephone number is (936) 294-1729.
Tickets will go on sale online at 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
